Day 115: Rock On!

April 25
Vicki has the most amazing piano teacher (that's her on the far left - the teacher, that is.  Vicki's a little left of center, all in black, with purple glasses and a yellow guitar.)  This year's recital theme was "Rock On", and it did totally rock.
Vicki played "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", in case anyone is curious.

  1. And Vicki doesn't like to practice!? I'm pretty sure if I had that piano teacher when I was younger I would never have quite. Yep. I'm pretty sure.

  2. That is just awesome. I agree with Carrie, I never would have quite quit with a teacher that cool.

  3. She is truly an awesome teacher. It's her full-time job, so she's really dedicated to it. This recital was a huge production. It really did rock.

  4. Ok, I'm sure it was a really exciting concert, but it must have been the world's LONGEST recital! That's a lot of kids!
I'm a little jealous though. We never got to play pop stuff on our piano recitals.

  5. It was long, but it was also entertaining enough to not make it boring. And the finale was impressive - she put together a medly of rock songs and every kid played a part of at least one song on one of about six keyboards, so there were several kids playing different parts all at once. Vicki had some chords on YMCA. After they'd played their part, they ran to the back and danced with inflatable guitars and bright-colored glasses. There was a smoke machine and a backup band (okay, drummer and bassist.) Amazing.
