Day 31: Another Lost Tooth

January 31
Because of her "shark teeth", she's never truly had a gap-toothed grin, but it's still pretty darn cute.

Day 30: Twister With a Twist

January 30
Cookie season is underway, and the Daisies need to be able to identify all the different types of cookies.

Day 29: Got Milk?

January 29
Just checking.

Day 28: Almost Too Late

January 28
Another one of those days when I almost didn't get a picture.

Day 27: My Favorite Hymns

January 27
I'm singing with the choir at church for a special conference, and the pieces that were chosen happen to be three of my favorite hymns.

Day 26: Snow on Mt. Hood

January 26
We spent the day sledding on Mt. Hood in celebration of two friends' birthdays.

Day 25: Enjoying the (rare) Sunshine

January 25
We try to soak up the vitamin D whenever we can.

Day 24: Accidental Denim

January 24
I don't think I meant to take this picture, but it's the only one I have for today and it's kind of cool.

Day 23: Memory Lane

January 23
I bought this mug at the end of my Study Abroad experience in 1998.  One of the classes we were required to take was "London Walks", so I feel like the statement is justified.

Day 22: Statistics

January 22
I haven't taken a math class in years, but this one is actually pretty fun.

Day 21: Squinkies

January 21
These little guys were just hanging out on the shelf.

Day 20: Kitchen Science

January 20
I'm pretty sure all she was doing was making a milkshake.  There is never a dull moment at our house.

Day 19: What Sunshine Does to a Portland Girl

January 19
It's way too bright, but it feels so good!

Day 18: The Best Time of Day

January 18
Daddy reads stories best.

Day 17: Dinner

January 17
We're trying to eat a little healthier, and tonight I made quinoa with potatoes and cheese.  It was really yummy, and despite all the "what the heck is quinoa?" questions from the girls, it was a big hit!

Day 16: Biscuits!

January 16
Chris went to California today for work and brought these home for us.  Apparently the shop in the building he's working on had a whole barrel full of these tasty British treats.  Hopefully he'll be traveling there again soon!

Day 15: Waiting

January 15
I had a few other shots of Ellie waiting for her checkup, but the expression on her face in this one just cracks me up.  And, just for the record, it really wasn't that long of a wait.

Day 14: A Light Dusting

January 14
For how freezing it's been, it would have been nice to have a little more snow.

Day 13: Allison - 0, New Knives - 2

January 13
I got these knives for Christmas, and they're great, but my old ones were so dull that I'm having a really hard time adjusting.  I didn't cut my finger off, but not for lack of trying.

Day 12: That Time Again!

January 12
I now have four years' worth of cookie sale pictures!

Day 11: Words to Live By

January 11
I ended up behind this car at a red light.  I agree.

Day 10: Getting Ready...

January 10
Girl Scout cookie sales are about to being!  This is the letter Lexi wrote for Chris to share with his co-workers.  We have to make sure to let them know ahead of time when the girls will be coming in to sell cookies.  Otherwise, somebody else's daughter might sneak in ahead of us!

Day 9: Her Family

January 9
Lexi had to do a family history report over the break.  She spent this evening finishing up and putting together her poster.  She's worked really hard on this project and is really excited about sharing her family with her class.

Day 8: The Reader

January 8
She loves her new tablet.  Specifically, the Kindle app and all the library books she now has literally at her fingertips.

Day 7: Ready for Dinner

January 7
Just Ellie, being silly.  It's definitely time for school to start again.

Day 6: Are We There Yet?

January 6
No, but we're more than halfway!

Day 5: Cookies

January 5
Grandma and the girls made the cookie dough, but then they left to go swimming, so Chris and I were put in charge of baking them.  We did an excellent job.

Day 4: Old School

January 4
Ellie got roller skates for Christmas, so we thought it would be fun to take the kids to the skating rink so she could really try them out.  I'm proud to say that, even though it's been YEARS since I've skated, I managed to stay upright the entire time.  And I'm a little dismayed to say that Vicki wears the same size roller skates as me.

Day 3: The Sledding Master

January 3
After she dubbed herself The Sledding Master, Ellie asked she had any ancestors who were professional sledders.

Day 2: Babysitting

January 2
Poor Nathan, the only boy cousin in a family full of girls who all want to love on him.  You can tell he hates the attention.

Day 1: Little Ladies

January 1
Whenever we visit, Grandma E. gets all her granddaughters together and hosts a "Little Ladies' Lemonade (or Hot Cocoa) Party".  The girls all bring their American Girl (or equivalent) dolls, wear fancy hats and eat fancy foods, and Grandma reads them a story.  It's quite the event.
