Day 27: Multicolorful

January 27
This evening was the annual Multicultural Fair at the girls' school.  This display wasn't done by either of my girls' classes, but I absolutely loved it.

Day 24: Bad Hair Day

January 24
"I hate it when Mom does my hair."

Day 23: Trouble Brewing

January 23
(I was originally trying to take a picture of the seagull roosting on top of the light (if you click on the picture you might be able to see him - obviously I need better zoom capabilities if I'm going to be serious about shots like that), but I like how menacing the dark clouds look against the blue sky.)

Day 22: Yellow Balloon of Randomness

January 22
This is a horrible quality picture, but I had to post it because we saw this yellow balloon just randomly floating across the road on Friday while walking to school.  There was no one else around and I have no idea where it came from, but it begs the question, why did the balloon cross the road?

Day 18: Jump!

January 18
No school today.  The girls put the small LoveSac at the bottom of the stairs, and pure entertainment ensued.

Day 17: Drip

January 17
I don't know what these berry-like things are, since it's not a fruit tree, but they looked cool dripping with rainwater.

Day 16: Pirates and Princesses

January 16
Lexi and Ellie were invited to a Pirate/Princess themed birthday party for a good friend of ours.  Here, the kids are about to discover the contents of the hidden treasure they had just hunted down.  (It was gold-wrapped chocolate - yum!)

Day 15: Party Girl

January 15
On her way to her first-ever sleepover!

Day 14: At the Hospital

January 14
Signing Daddy's get well card while waiting for him to recover from surgery.

Day 12: Weight Loss by Chocolate

January 12
Apparently the banana sticker got stuck to my Cherry Cordial Hershey's Kisses in the grocery bag.  But it makes me happy, so I'm leaving it there.

Day 6: Ballerinas

January 6
Wednesday is Dance Class day (Ellie's the one in all pink on the far left.)  They get to twirl with pink scarves.  Who could ask for anything more?

Day 4: Grocery Shopping

January 4
They go back to school tomorrow, but we needed food today.

Day 3: Are We There Yet?

January 3
No.  No, we're not.

Day 2: Stuffed

January 2
The car is jam-packed and ready for us to head back to Oregon early in the morning.

Day 1: New Year Snowman

New Year's Day, 2010
We went sledding with Grandma & Grandpa Y.  Emily, Russ, and Abbie came along.  Everyone pitched in to help build the snowman.  It took four people to lift the middle onto the bottom.  Russ created the face (except for the mouth - I did that).  Lexi engineered the snow kitty to her right.

What is Project 365?

I'm not unique.  I got the idea from strangers on Flikr.  If you google "project 365" you will get countless hits from people who also got the idea somewhere.

But I'm okay with joining the crowd on a project like this, because even though the title and idea are not unique, the content most certainly will be.  Because no one is living my life but me (and there are days that you will thank your lucky stars for that!)

The idea behind Project 365 is simple: take a picture each day for 365 days.  And share it with the world.  Because the world is dying to see it, of course ;)

I decided that it would be easier to catalogue the pictures if they had their own blog.  You can still find my personal blog in the same old place.  I may not post here every single day, but I promise the pictures will each be labeled with the date they were taken, and I promise not to cheat! (in other words, if I miss a day, I'll admit it, but I won't post a picture from one day and claim it was from another.)

I can't promise photographic genius.  I only own a point-and-shoot camera, and while I love taking pictures, I'm not very good at it.  The majority of the pictures probably won't be frame-worthy, and will probably feature my children (or how messy my children can make my house on any given day.)  But it's an exciting concept and I can't wait to see what the year brings!
