Day 239: Not the Way I'd Planned to Spend My Evening

August 27
Her arm is broken in two places.  I'd feel sorry for her, but now she gets to start school with a cast.  Lucky kid, she'll be the center of attention.

Day 238: One Sweet Flower

August 26
That's a lot of bees.

Day 237: The Aftermath

August 25
Vicki and her best friend somehow convinced me to let them make lemon meringue pie, by themselves, this morning.  Good thing it was really tasty.

Day 236: Sleepover Movie

August 24
Vicki and Kate watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.  I recommend the book.

Day 235: Family Butt Shot

August 23
Priceless.

Day 234: Gotta Have Blue...Flowers

August 22
Ellie brought these home from our friends' backyard and insisted we put them in water.  Pretty, no?

Day 231: Like Diamonds

August 19
The coolest spiderweb I've seen in a long time.

Day 230: Marshmallow Heaven

August 18
Our friends invited us over for a BBQ.  They have a fire pit.  S'mores galore!

Day 229: Birthday Party

August 17
We went swimming.  Then she opened presents.  She would have preferred that it was the other way around.

Day 228: My Front Seat Companion

August 16
She loves that she's big enough to be considered safe in the front seat, and therefore free from the squishiness of the back seat, but that doesn't mean she's thrilled about having her picture taken.

Day 227: Farewell Old and Stupid Computer

August 15
I will not miss your startup screen that regularly fails.
I should point out that I'm not 100% sure I took this picture.  I was taking similar pictures, but it's very clear that Ellie got ahold of my camera at some point.  However, I liked this one the best of the ones I most likely took.  I liked a few she quite clearly took better, but rules are rules, even if they're just in my head.  So, I'm posting it as my own, but including this disclaimer so if evidence somehow turns up to prove I didn't take it, my bases are covered.  Covered from what, I'm not sure, but covered nonetheless.

Day 226: Cityscape?

August 14
I've always thought the inside of a computer looks like a futuristic city.  But maybe I'm just weird.

Day 225: The Office

August 13
We like going to Daddy's office, because he has a spinny chair.  We also like to fight over the spinny chair, and be banned from it and forced to stand silently against the wall.  Not that our mom would ever do that to us, of course.  Of course not.

Day 224: Before

August 12
We're in the process of (sort of) re-designing the girls' room.  I plan to blog about the whole thing, so this is my "before" shot of Ellie's bed/personal space.  Not sure why she's face down on the bed, but...whatever.

Day 223: Happy Birthday Lexi!

August 11
8 years old today!

Day 222: The Room Threw Up

August 10
Mid-deep-clean.  I know it has to get worse before it gets better, but this is ridiculous.

Day 221: Yo Cream!

August 9
Yum.

Day 220: Home Again

August 8
Back home and playing Legos with Dad.  Life is good.

Day 219: Flutterby

August 7
Butterfly World, Newport, Oregon
Totally exceeded all expectations.  Just don't step on the butterflies.  (Ellie says she's sorry.)

Day 218: Oregon Beach Fun

August 6
The Oregon Coast doesn't have swimming beaches - it's nowhere near warm enough for that.  That doesn't stop my kids from getting wet, though.

Day 217: Jellies

August 5
Oregon Coast Aquarium
Jellyfish are quite possibly the most relaxing creatures to look at.

Day 216: Sand Tracks

August 4
Agate Beach, Newport, OR

Day 215: Starfish

August 3
Sometimes the crab pots bring up more than just crabs.

Day 214: Queen of the Crabs

August 2
It's all fun and games until someone gets pinched.  Which, of course, happened to Vicki.  We now completely understand where the term "crabby" came from.  Those guys are grumpy.

Day 213: Sweet View

August 1
The view from our condo in Newport, OR.  Nice, huh?
