We did a lesson yesterday in Keira's Spirit Play class about the tree huggers in India. It was a true event that happened in the 70's. A bunch of women saved their forest by "hugging" the trees and keeping people from clearing the woods. I imagine that's where the term comes from. Pretty cool story though.
