Well, I suppose it was actually 364. I missed one day back in February. But that's better than last year's 361. I'm pretty proud of myself!
I've loved this project and will be continuing it in 2012, when, thanks to leap year, it will actually be Project 366. And I'd love for you to join me. I had both good friends and complete strangers take part this past year, and I'd love for more company in the coming year. It's been fun to have this snapshot peek into people's day-to-day lives, and I hope others have enjoyed my blog as much as I've enjoyed everyone else's.
Here's to another 365 (or 366!) days of pictures!

Day 365: Bring On the New Year!
December 31
After some "serious" pictures with Chris's family, we took some fun ones in our new, matching sunglasses that his parents got us for our cruise. When the grown-ups were finished, the kids put on the glasses and hammed it up for the camera. These girls are ready for whatever the New Year brings!
Day 364: Mythbusters Game!
December 30
Chris and the girls tried out our new Mythbusters game this afternoon. You answer trivia questions on myths they've tested and launch Buster the crash-test dummy. Pretty awesome.

Day 363: Temple Lights
December 29
We took the girls downtown to Temple Square this evening. It's been several years since they've been there. After spending hours in the museum and the visitors' centers, Vicki and I ran around the front of the temple so we could take some quick pictures. I wish I'd had a better camera with a wide-angle lens, because the lights floating in the reflecting pool were beautiful, but I'm glad I was able to get the Nativity in there.

Day 362: Sledding
December 28
We went sledding today with Chris's family at a groomed sled park called Gorgoza. The girls (and all of us, actually) had a blast, and are really excited that my parents are planning on taking them back next week.
Day 361: There Was a Chocolate Fountain
December 27
This evening we went to a family Christmas party, and Ellie found her own personal heaven.

Day 360: Little Ladies
December 26
Every time we visit Utah, Grandma hosts a "Little Ladies' Lemonade Party" (or a hot cocoa party in the winter) for all her granddaughters and their American Girl dolls. They eat dainty little foods and, best of all, wear awesome hats.

Day 359: Best Christmas EVER!!!
December 25
After a couple of years of begging, Vicki finally got a cell phone! It was the perfect surprise, because despite her best efforts at convincing us she needed one, we've had her convinced for a few months now that it wasn't going to happen anytime soon. The look on her face as she opened it up was priceless.

Day 357: Truck Stop Hats
December 23
These hats were too good to pass by without taking a picture, and we needed a few more minutes out of the car before hitting the road again.

Day 356: Wrapping and Packing
December 22
The plan is to leave town at 3:00 in the morning, but of course at 9:00 at night I'm still packing bags and wrapping presents.
Day 355: Christmas Treats
December 21
We delivered plates of goodies to our friends and neighbors this evening. I wish I'd taken a picture earlier, when there were nearly 150 of those candy cane cookies covering my table.
Day 354: Friends, Food, and Fun
December 20
In what I hope will become a regular event, we got together this evening with six other families from the neighborhood for a night of food and games. Between us there are 19 children!
Day 352: Nativity
December 18
I taught the Christmas lesson in my Sunday School class today. Since I teach the 5-year-olds, I brought this nativity along to help us act it out.

Day 350: Holiday Food Drive
December 16
Just some of the food donated during the school's annual "10 Days of Giving" food drive. The generosity is overwhelming! I helped set it all up in the cafeteria this afternoon so community families in need could come shop for things to hold them over through the Holidays.

Day 349: Hammin' it Up
December 15
Vicki and Lexi both had checkups today. Lexi spent her waiting time hamming it up for me while modeling the fabulous gown, which was big on Vicki and HUGE on her.

Day 348: Daisy Ornament Exchange
December 14
Ellie and her friend Halli are opening their ornaments after a crazy right-left passing game.
Day 347: Breakfast for Dinner
December 13
Pancakes are good any time of the day! Chris was working late, and the girls ate theirs as quickly as I could get them off the griddle, so by the time I was ready to eat, they were finished and I enjoyed a quiet meal with the New Yorker magazine for company.
Day 346: Applesauce-Cinnamon Christmas Ornaments
December 12
I helped Lexi's class with a Christmas craft today. My friend Rachel made this dough (see her picture here) and we helped the kids roll it out and cut out the shapes. It smells amazing, and they will make fabulous ornaments!
Day 345: At Your Service
December 11
Ellie, for some unknown reason, decided to fix Chris and I a "romantic snack" this evening. She gave us each an apple, four saltine crackers, an a slice of sourdough bread. I guess anything can be romantic when there are candles involved.

Day 343: Fall is Almost Over
December 9
But there are still plenty of (slightly blurry) leaves in the street in front of our house.
Day 342: Get Well Soon
December 8
I had the unfortunate privilege of being up all night with the stomach flu. I spent the day lying on the couch watching Netflix and enjoying these get well cards my awesome daughters made for me.
Day 341: We Are Not Fashion Conscious
December 7
This morning Ellie chose to wear capri-length leggings under her skirt, which is nothing new, but she also chose to wear knee-high socks. This combination, along with her choice of shoes, made her legs look, in my opinion, a little like Ben Franklin.

Day 340: Ready for Rain
December 6
These umbrellas hang from the ceiling of the church hall where we hold our monthly Girl Scout Leader meetings. I don't know what their purpose is, or why some of them appear to be full of styrofoam packing peanuts, but they're kind of fun.

Day 338: Mushroom
December 4
For some reason, the area around our church's parking lot is especially susceptible to mushrooms. This one is as big as Vicki's head.
Day 337: How to Powerpoint
December 3
My only shot from today, and I have no idea why I took it, is this image of my screen while I was watching a demo video on Powerpoint for my computer class.
Day 336: Zoo Field Trip
December 2
I was able to join Ellie's class on a field trip to the zoo today. I hung out with her and six of her classmates. They've been studying felines, so they were especially excited to see these leopards and share their knowledge with the friendly zookeeper.

Day 334: Don't Forget to Compost!
November 30
I sneaked into the back of the school assembly this morning. Lexi, as part of the school's Peace Action Team, is displaying a poster reminding the kids about composting their food scraps at lunch.
Day 331: Good Book
November 27
I'm so happy my book club chose this book! It's been a long time since I've read it, and I'd forgotten just how amazing it is.
Day 330: Sorry
November 26
Unfortunately, this is the only picture I took today. I took it so I could send Chris a message with a comment I overheard while passing them at Freddy's: "Ugh. I would divorce any man who wore that." Yes, indeed.
Day 328: Let the Feast Begin!
November 24
I'm thankful for good food, and awesome family members who traveled to share it with us!

Day 327: All Set and Ready to Go
November 23
The table all set for tomorrow's feast, complete with turkey place cards made by Vicki and Lexi.

Day 326: Gavin's Hat
November 22
My nephew, wearing a strainer for a hat. He wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get a better shot, but he sure loved my pots and pans. I'm so happy to have family here this week!
Day 325: Holiday Groceries
November 21
Another only-shot-of-the-day. All the food I bought (minus the turkey, which was already in the fridge) for Thanksgiving dinner and the surrounding days with family.
Day 324: Doing the Dishes
November 20
(Sadly, this oddly-angled near butt-shot is the only picture I took today.) Chris has been having the girls take turns helping him with the dishes in the evenings. They love it because it's uninterrupted Daddy time. And he loves it for the same reason.

Day 323: Torture
November 19
Vicki and I spent the day volunteering at the Holiday Shopping Extravaganza, a fundraiser for Outdoor School. I stood in front of these goodies for four hours, and only succumbed to the temptation of a red velvet mini-cupcake. And a pineapple-filled angel food cake roll. Not too bad, right?
Day 322: A Closet Full of Fancy
November 18
Someone (I think it may have been Lexi) decided to organize the dress-up clothes by hanging them up neatly, rather than just piling them in the bin. We'll see how long it lasts.
Day 320: Teamwork?
November 16
At our Girl Scout meeting today, we made the girls stand back-to-back, link elbows, and then sit down with their legs straight out in front of them. Then we made them stand back up, without ever unlinking elbows. It was highly entertaining.

Day 319: Foggy Evening
November 15
It was pretty foggy when we left Vicki's piano lesson this evening, and the lights looked really cool.
Day 318: Rice Table
November 14
This afternoon I volunteered in Ellie's class, and her teacher put me in charge of the rice table during Choice Time. My main job was crowd control, since only three kids at a time are allowed to play there, but the other 20 all want a turn. Waiting is hard when you're a kindergartner.
Day 317: Choir Practice
November 13
The last several years the older girls and I have sung in our church's annual Christmas concert. Tonight was the first practice. Not too many showed up for the children's choir, but the numbers usually grow each week. Vicki will also be joining me in the adult choir, singing selections from The Messiah, as well as a few other Christmas pieces.
