Day 318: Rice Table
November 14
This afternoon I volunteered in Ellie's class, and her teacher put me in charge of the rice table during Choice Time. My main job was crowd control, since only three kids at a time are allowed to play there, but the other 20 all want a turn. Waiting is hard when you're a kindergartner.
Day 317: Choir Practice
November 13
The last several years the older girls and I have sung in our church's annual Christmas concert. Tonight was the first practice. Not too many showed up for the children's choir, but the numbers usually grow each week. Vicki will also be joining me in the adult choir, singing selections from The Messiah, as well as a few other Christmas pieces.
Day 316: Playdoh is Fun for Grownups, Too

Day 315: In Target

It's a little sad that today is Veteran's Day, and this is the only picture I have. Vicki and Lexi were doing rock, paper, scissors to determine who got to collect the shopping cart once it made its way down the escalator. And Ellie was "helping" the escalator move more quickly. Today I was reminded of what I miss out on when I shop by myself.
Day 314: Colorful Chemicals

In tonight's Chemistry lab, we tested pH levels of a variety of chemicals using, of all things, cabbage juice as our indicator.
Day 313: First Daisy Meeting

I wish I'd been able to take better pictures, but today was Ellie's first Daisy Girl Scout meeting. She's been waiting for this day for about five years now. Vicki and her friend Shelbie, now super-experienced Cadette Girl Scouts, taught the new Daisies a few songs.

Day 311: Happy Birthday Indeed

Vicki turned 11 today. I love that I managed to catch her reaction as she opened this gift - it was a necklace that looks like the Time-Turner Hermione wears in Harry Potter.

Day 309: IKEA

I never seem to manage to leave this store with only the things I came in for. This time the non-listed items were a can opener and a mirror.
Day 308: Whacky Dress Up Day
November 4
The girls' school requires uniforms, but once a month, if they turn in all their homework, the 4th & 5th graders get a whacky dress up day. "Whacky" is open to interpretation, though - some kids just wear regular clothes, and some people go all out in costumes or pajamas. Lexi and her friend here planned matching outfits, which I find ironic considering that it's their one day to be free from matching everyone else.
Day 307: It Was Late and I Was Tired
