Day 269: Strategizing*

September 26
It was a really close game.

*If I say it's a word, that makes it one, right?

Day 268: What Daddies are For

September 25
Tickles!

Day 267: Very Hungry

September 24
The basement walls of the girls' school are covered in colorful murals, all relating to books.  This is one of the least impressive sections, but the lights were out in the cafeteria, so I couldn't take a picture in there.  Maybe some other day...

Day 266: The Best Part

September 23
Forget the cookies; it's all about the dough in this house.

Day 265: Wheeeee!!!

September 22
We went to a birthday party today at a place called J.J. Jump.  It's a big room full of bounce houses and inflatable slides.  Crazy busy fun.  And a great big crash at bedtime.

Day 264: Hoberman Sphere

September 21
As discovered in the office of the elementary school guidance counselor while visiting her guidance counselor dog, Maggie.

Day 263: The Machine

September 20
Vicki is building the "Voice-o-Meter 3000" for a school project.  It will be truly awesome.

Day 262: Miracle of Miracles

September 19
My daughters spent over an hour this afternoon setting up and playing with a Little People village.  Together.  Why it had to be in my bedroom I'll never know, but I'm not being picky.  They were getting along, and it was glorious.

Day 261: Blowin' Bubbles

September 18
Grandpa E. showed up tonight to surprise us with dinner at Red Robin.  He had a few other reasons for being here, but who can pass up a night out with three beautiful girls (and their parents)?

Day 260: My Constant Companion

September 17
Smirking because she saw more slugbugs than I did.

Day 259: Oops Again

September 16
This is me, crying because I forgot to take a picture today.  Again.  Oh, well.  257 out of 259 isn't too bad, is it?
Also, I think I need to figure out how to make my hair look like that for real.

Day 258: She Can Do it All By Herself

September 15
And she'll grin the whole way.

Day 257: Spider

September 14
(He is our hero)

Day 256: Pride

September 13
I'm not sure why, but I feel like there should be an American flag behind her.

Day 255: Purty

September 12
She painted them herself, in case you couldn't tell.

Day 254: We Have a Lot of Pears

September 11
50 half-pint jars of pear butter, 7 quarts of pear halves.  And just over one box of pears left.  Last year we got one box and it wasn't enough.  This year we got three.  Next year, it will be two.  Canning is hard work.

Day 253: Today's Book of Knowledge

September 10
It tells me how to deal with the 3 giant boxes of pears threatening to turn to mush in my kitchen.

Day 252: Make a Wish

September 9

Day 250: Ready and Waiting

September 7
School starts tomorrow!!!

Day 249: Spin

September 6
Not too many parks have merry-go-rounds anymore, but this one does!

Day 248: Swinging with the Grandmas

September 5
One grandma is fun.  Two grandmas is fun times infinity (and beyond!)

Day 247: Art in the Pearl

September 4
Art in the Pearl is an annual arts festival here in Portland every Labor Day weekend.  We've gone almost every year.  Most of the booths are just really cool art for sale, but there are a few booths that have hands-on activities for kids.  Not only did the girls get to try their hands at weaving here, but they brought home little kits for making bracelets by braiding together 7 strands of thread.  Even Ellie mastered it.  So cool.

Day 246: Where it All Begins

September 3
After living in Portland for over 5 years, we finally hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls.  Breathtaking.  This is the tiny little falls right before the start of the big one.  I couldn't get the entire falls in one frame, but if you ever visit Portland, it's a must.

Day 245: Fly Away Home

September 2
At our garden.

Day 244: In the Pink

September 1
This is what their flower lamps do to the room at night.
