Day 212: Tiki Time

July 31
We went to a luau this evening.  Citronella Tiki torches provided atmosphere with the added bonus of keeping the killer mosquitoes at bay.

Day 211: Alien Hair

July 30
We attempted to highlight hair using Kool-Aid.  Unfortunately their hair is too dark for it to really work.  Attempt #2 produced better results, but only Vicki had the patience for that.  Next time I think we'll go all-out, and we'll sleep with the color in.  That should do it, I think.

Day 210: Jump!

July 29
At the end of each swimming lesson, Ellie's class gets to do jumps.  She loves to make the teachers back up really far and then jump in and "swim" to them.  She is the reason we are still paying for swimming lessons.  No fear at all.

Day 209: Sprinkler

July 28
Run through the sprinkler?  Why?

Day 208: Room for Rent

July 27
It's going cheep.

Day 207: The Web

July 26
We get a lot of spiders on our deck.  Vicki named this one Bob the 23rd.

Day 206: The Incredible Machine

July 25
One of our favorite computer games.  They were creating their own Rube Goldberg machine, invovling balloons, cannons, ropes, pulleys, guns, trampolines, and one very freaked-out cat.

Day 205: His & Hers

July 24
We went on an actual date tonight and finally used gift cards we've had for a while.  Smoothies and a movie; it was a good night out.

Day 204: Funny, You've Got a Lot of Books Here

July 23
I've posted a few shots of my nightstand.  If you thought it was stacked with books, get a load of Chris's.

Day 203: Sunflower

July 22
It's our week to take care of the school garden.  Just one of the many reasons we think our school is awesome.

Day 202: My Own Personal Chorus

July 21
They have been singing these songs nonstop for DAYS.  Someone make it stop.

Day 201: Seriously?

July 20
The cards Vicki sent to her grandparents from camp.  I had no idea there were minimum size standards for mailing cards.  Why does Target sell these if they can't be mailed?  How stupid is that?  Grrrrr...
So, Grandmas & Grandpas, Vicki did write you.  Here is the proof.  We'll put them in acceptable envelopes and you'll get them eventually.

Day 200: Garden Rainbow

Day 198: Queen of the Laundry

July 17
I actually gave birth to a child who loves to do laundry.  Genetics are clearly not everything.

Day 197: Happy Camper Home Again

July 16
Chillin' with her dirty feet on my couch.

Day 196: Fan Part 2

July 15
The winner also gets to sleep in front of the fan.

Day 195: Nightstand Flowers

July 14
Two separate Mother's Day school projects are in that vase: the paper flowers from Vicki in 3rd grade and the ceramic flower from Lexi this year.

Day 194: Elephant Tent

July 13
This is the back of our awesomely cute elephant tent, which the younger girls set up in the playroom to sleep in while Vicki is away at camp.  However, apparently it's too crowded for both of them to sleep in there, and they're used to having someone else in the room with them so neither of them will sleep in it alone.  Right now they're both asleep on the floor in the bedroom.  We have such weird kids.

Day 193: Guessing Game

July 12
I have no idea what the word was, but she's sure excited about it.

Day 192: Happy Camper

July 11
Ready to go to Camp Arrowhead!

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Day 191: Door Magic

July 10
Ellie firmly believes that she can control automatic doors by waving her hands.

Day 190: Shrinky Dinks!

July 9
Yep, they still make these things.  And they're just as cool to watch as I remember.

Day 189: The Park

July 8
A playground, swings, benches, picnic table, grassy area, gardens, and goats...who could ask for anything more?

Day 188: Fan

July 7
Who gets to sit in front of it during this heatwave?  Only time and a lot of pushing and shoving will tell.

Day 187: Flowers on the Porch

July 6

Day 186: Almost Home

July 5
Just a few more hours in the car.
Also, my windshield is really dirty.

Day 185: Cousins

July 4
Happy Independence Day!

Day 184: Crazy Uncle Britton

July 3
Yes, that is snow in the background.  And yes, he is no longer holding the rope.  Chris did this, too, but as he did it not in a wetsuit, but in his underwear, I'm choosing to not post a picture of that.  You're welcome.

Day 183: Sandy Toes

July 2
My niece, Abbie, at Bear Lake.

Day 182: Pray

July 1
This ramp never fails to make me very, very grateful that I'm not a truck driver.

Day 181: Instant Friends

June 30
Piper, meet Caleb.  Caleb, meet Piper.  Your parents are friends; you have no choice.

Day 180: Splash

June 29
Lexi likes to swim.  Do you think it shows?

Day 179: This is Not Your Chair

June 28
Buddy the dog would like me to move.

Day 178: The Boy

June 27
My nephew, Gavin.  He's the first boy cousin for my girls.  We met him for the first time today and decided unanimously that he's a keeper.  Good job, Rob & Reb.

Day 177: Children of the Technological Age

June 26
A portable DVD player and a cell phone...what more could children stuck in a car for 12 hours ask for?

Day 176: Packed

June 25
We went to the Josh Ritter concert tonight, and stupid me left the camera at home.  I'll never be able to forgive myself.  I hadn't taken any pictures all day because I planned to take some at the concert, so this was all I had the energy for when we got home at a quarter to midnight.  The bags packed and (mostly) ready to go on our 12-hour road trip.

Day 175: End Result

June 24
The fabulous tie-dyed sarongs.  We are so awesome.
