Day 150: The Zucchini Was Supposed to Be For Me

May 30
This is the same plant as this picture.  Stupid slugs.

Day 149: I Made it Myself

May 29
I made this coat rack all by myself.  From scratch.  I'm such a Domestic Hero.  The best part is: while I was working with power tools, Chris was on the other side of the kitchen sewing himself a pair of shorts.  We are so freaking awesome.
(I was going for a Rosie the Riveter-style shot here.  Didn't work.  For one thing I'm nowhere near as buff as she is.)

Day 148: Balance

May 28

Day 147: Even Princesses Need Rainboots

May 27

Day 146: Sunset

May 26

Day 145: Painting Rockos

May 25
Our neighborhood friend Ms. B. gave Ellie a painted "rocko", so Ellie painted this one as a thank you gift.

Day 144: The Spiraling Shape Will Make You Go Insane

May 24
...but everyone wants to see that groovy thing.

Day 143: Pumpkin Face

May 23
Lexi lost two teeth in three days (she pulled them out herself!)  We call her "pumpkin face" now because she looks kinda like a jack-o-lantern.  Adorable.

Day 142: Take Me Out to the Ballgame

May 22
We took the Girl Scouts to see the Portland Beavers play the Oklahoma City Redhawks.  The Beavers lost, but we had fun anyway.  We ate peanuts and Crackerjacks, of course.  Oh, and we each got a free, really ugly Lewis & Clark bobblehead.  Lucky us.

Day 141: Raindrops on...Rhododendrons

May 21
They're not roses, but they're still a few of my favorite things!

Day 140: In the Bleachers

May 20
The girls' school had their annual Fun Run today, despite the bouts of pouring rain and evil-looking skies, and we went to cheer the kids on.  After running walking 5 laps with the younger grades, Ellie decided to hang out in the bleachers while the older grades had their turn.  I'm beginning to notice how many of my pictures feature umbrellas.  I guess that's what happens when you live in the Northwest, huh?

Day 139: Coming In

May 19
No one I know is on this plane.  At least as far as I know.  And I should point out that I took this while driving, which is not safe and I don't recommend it.  Neither does Vicki, who was in the car with me at the time and was horrified.  But, in my defense, there were no other cars around, and I just pointed the camera and hoped for the best, without taking my eyes off the road.  So it's all good.  Right?

Day 138: Oops

May 18
I forgot to take a picture today.  I'm so bummed.

Day 137: Swirly

May 17
It's how you make pink.

Day 136: Whodunit?

May 16
Playing Clue.  The Harry Potter version, of course.

Day 135: Garden Time

May 15
Today we started planting.  21 tomato plants (one is Vicki's), 3 squash, 1 pumpkin, and a watermelon.  So far.

Day 134: Precariously Perched

May 14
My kids fall asleep in the weirdest places.

Day 133: Take a Chance on Me

May 13
This is the birthday cake I made for Chris.  It's an attempt to wreckplicate this Cake Wreck.  I didn't want to make a huge cake, so I made giant cupcakes instead, which is why I didn't have room to write "Bon Bon" or "Peanut Butter Cup".  Also, the store I went to in a hurry didn't have Whoppers, which is what I was going to use as Bon Bons, since nothing Bon Bon-like would fit on a cupcake, so I had to settle for Reeses Cups instead.  I figured he'd get it, though, having seen the original Wreck.  The girls thought it was hilarious, and when he ate the PB Cup with the green M&M on it first, Ellie freaked out, as if that was the poison one and she knew it.  I'm not sure she quite got it.  No, Sweetie, Mommy is not trying to kill Daddy.

Day 128: To Market, to Market...

May 8
One of our favorite places on earth, the Portland Saturday Market.
(I NEED to know how to tie-dye like that)

Day 127: You Can't Hide From Me

May 7
There are way, way too many dandelions in this world, and a good number of them have taken up residence in my garden.

Day 126: Right Outside My Front Door

May 6
The sun came out, and so did the princesses.

Day 125: Driveway Moment

May 5
Our good friend was on "Think Out Loud" today.  I missed the morning broadcast, but I caught part of the rebroadcast on my way home from an evening out with friends and had to hang out in the driveway for a few minutes to listen.
On a side note, it's funny how people sound slightly unrecognizable when you can't see their face.

Day 124: Drip, Drip, Drop

May 4

Day 123: So They Say

May 3
I should submit this to my favorite "blog".

Day 122: How D'Ya Like Them Apples?

May 2
We played Apples to Apples tonight.  I lost miserably.  I always do.

Day 121: Oooh Lolly, Lolly, Lolly

May 1
Lollipop! (da dum dum dum)

Day 120: Eye of the Storm

April 30
This is our kitty friend, Stormy.  We walk by his house every day on the way to and from school, and he always comes to say hello to us.

Day 119: Cats and Dogs

April 29
Or maybe just turtles and frogs.  But it was really coming down, regardless.  And of course the picture doesn't do it justice.  But I say it would have been much better if I had a better camera.  Of course it would.
